It’s medical name is Pyotraumatic Dermatitis, and today we want to give our clients insight on the possible causes and symptoms.
Possible Symptoms
- Persistent licking, chewing, or scratching
- Alopecia
- Red, swollen, or moist lesions
Possible Causes
- Focused chewing or licking in a specific area on the dog’s body
- Flea bite
- Food hypersensitivity
- Contact Dermatitis
If you notice a hot spot, it is best to reach out to your veterinarian as soon as possible as the wound may become infected overnight.
