Ever wondered why your pet carries their food out of their bowl and onto the floor into another room to eat? Why not just eat out of the bowl instead of making a mess on your floors?

Well, the answer is: Pack Mentality

Even if you only have one pet, dogs in the wild drag pieces of food away from the pack after a hunt to avoid fighting with the more dominant leader. Although the competition may not be present in your home, it is animal instinct taking over. Another interesting cause for this action may be the sound of the pets collar or the sound of the food in his/her feeding container, especially if it is metal. It may be frightening or simply annoying. A few suggestions to rectify this behavior, is to switch to a plastic feeding bowl to avoid the noise or place the feeding bowl in one small area.

The most important thing to remember is that your pup is eating! Do you have any eating habits to share? We always love to hear from you!
