You probably have a first aid kit for humans in your house, but do you have one for your dog? It's important to have a basic first aid kid prepared in case of emergency.
Here is what the International Boarding & Pet Services Association recommends to have on hand for your pet:
-A board or blanket which can be used as a stretcher, if necessary
-Vetwrap or similar bandages
-Hydrogen peroxide
-Iodine or other disinfecting wipes
-Towels to control bleeding
-Gauze or other bandage material for wrapping wounds
-Adhesive tape
-Isotonic saline eye flush
-Syringe which can used to flush a wound or medicate a dog
-Antibiotic ointment, such as Neosporin
-Bandage scissors
-Thermometer
-Small flashlight
-Clippers to shave hair away from a wound
-Muzzles in several sizes
-Disposable medical gloves
We have all of these items on hand in our Canine First Aid kit here at Dog Tired. Your dog's safety and health is our top priority, so we want to make sure we are always prepared.
